Another nail in the coffin of Britain’s absurd libel laws

Following the overturning yesterday of an injunction barring a national newspaper from reporting activities in the UK parliament, we now have the splendid news that the High Court in London has granted science journalist Simon Singh the right to appeal Justice David Eady’s imbecilic ruling earlier this year in favour of the crank British Chiropractic Association.

Important to note is that Singh will be appealing not just a narrow point of law concerning the definition of “bogus”; skeptic and legal blogger Jack of Kent reports that the writer has been granted leave to to argue that the offending Guardian article was ‘fair comment’.

Cranks, charlatans and snake oil salesmen be warned: you may fool the fuckwitted, but mess with scientists and you will regret it!
