The missing minute

Missing from the lavish opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, despite the pleas of a few decent world leaders, and of many ordinary men and women around the world: a moment of silence to honour the 11 Israeli athletes murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Olympics in München. The International Olympic Committee refuses to honour the victims, fearing a backlash from Arab countries.

The victims…

We will remember them.

Incidentally, also missing from London 2012 is an entire country – Kosovo – the sovereignty of which the IOC refuses to recognise.
